Dapo Dissolves Ogun Transport Unions, Appoints 2019 Amir Ul Hajj

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has dissolved all the Transport Unions in the State.

The Unions, include National Union of Road Transport Workers, Road Transport Employee Association of Nigeria, The Amalgamated Commercial Tricycles and Motorcycle Owners and Repairers Association of Nigeria.

The Governor in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin, says that a committee has been constituted in the interim to coordinate the activities of the Unions in the State.

The Committee headed by Barrister Sunday Adeniyi, is mandated to review the operations of the Unions, and recommend how they could be better organized to support the development of the State.

Also, the Governor has constituted a committee to coordinate the 2019 Hajj operations for Muslims pilgrims in the State to the Holy land, in the absence of the Board of the State Muslims Pilgrims Welfare.

The Ad-Hoc Committee, according to Somorin is headed by Imam Mufutau Majekodunmi with Alhaji Abdulgafar Ornunsolu, Imam Rufai Sale, Alhaji Musibau Salako, Alhaji Tunde Oladunjoye as members.

Other members are Doctor Mrs Rasheedat Oloyede, Honorable Kamaru Oduntan and Alhaja Bisola Aliu.

The Governor also appointed Alhaji Parakoyi as the Amirul Hajj of the State for the 2019 Hajj.
