The Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPMAN) have asked the federal government to fully deregulate the petroleum sector.
The association chairperson, Winifred Akpani, in a statement commends the presidency for introducing price modulation policy.
But she explains that the full deregulation of the petroleum sector, will promote transparency competition and sustainable growth of the sector, and open it up for fresh investors, deepening of the market and diversification.
The presidency introduced price modulation policy last march under which it began a gradual fixture of the price of petrol and end the subsidy regime. Under the policy, the pump price is determined by the global price of crude and landing costs of refined products.
