Dangote to complete Nigeria’s longest concrete road project December

The Dangote Group has commenced Nigeria’s longest rigid pavement on the Obajana-Kabba road project in Kogi State.

The 44-kilometre Obajana–Kabba concrete road project being executed in Kogi State by its subsidiary, AG-Dangote Construction Company will be ready in December.

Managing Director of AG-Dangote Construction Company, Mr Ashif Juma, said project is the longest concrete road project in Nigeria being built according to specifications.

According to him, so far 33-kilometre earthwork and 22-kilometre concrete pavement have already been accomplished.

He asked government at all levels to switch over to construction of concrete road instead of asphalt as it is far superior, durable and cheaper, as it does not require frequent maintenance.

According to him, concrete road last longer than asphalt roads, do not have potholes, does not require frequent maintenance as asphalt roads, saves fuel for motorists and protects tyres from wear and tears.

The company is also constructing a 26- kilometre Itori-Ibeshe concrete road project in Ogun State.
