Customs Seizes Fake Notes, Smuggled Petrol In Ogun

Nigeria Customs Service says its operatives have made huge seizure in the Yewa axis of Ogun State, close the shut Nigeria’s land border with Benin Republic.

The seizure, according to the customs spokesman, Abdullahi Maiwada, included fake n2.5 million fake currency notes at Ihumbe check point along the Ota-Idiroko road.

Also seized was 16o jerry can of 25 litres filled with petrol, at hideout at Iko gate on the Idiroko Road.

Maiwada also says the customs team intercepted 20 drums of ethanol from a gang.

The methanol, according to him is being diluted with water and then sold to unsuspecting members of the public at Idiroko as alcohol.
