Customs Operatives Injured In Ambush By Suspected Smugglers In Ogun State

Four operatives of the Nigeria Custom Service have been injured by gunmen suspected to be smugglers in the Yewa axis of Ogun State.

The incident occurred on Tuesday when a customs patrol was ambushed at the border town of Ilase.

Spokesman of the state command of customs, Abubakar Usman who confirmed the incident to RockCity FM, said one of the patrol vehicles was vandalized by the suspected smugglers.

Usman named the injured personnel as M Lawal, M.i Iyagi, U.C Edeh and E. Anibijuwon.

He said that three of the suspected smugglers have been arrested and handed over to the police
