The Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) said it has lost 26 of its personnel to attacks by Boko Haram insurgents in Borno and Yobe states in the North East region.
The Customs Comptroller in-charge of the two states, Joshua Angbalaga, who made this known to newsmen in Maiduguri, said the insurgency in the region is affecting the activities of the agency in the axis.
For instance, the state Comptroller explained that only one of the 13 economic border posts in the two states is functioning optimally.
He said the remaining economic borders will remain closed until the security forces crush Boko Haram forces in the region.
