Customs intercept cache of ammunition at Tincan port Lagos


Nigeria Customs Service has intercepted a cache of ammunition of various calibre at the Tincan island port complex in Lagos.

The consignment was found in a forty foot container and a vehicles discharged from a vessel

The seizure is coming, a day after the operatives of the agency intercepted a huge volume of live ammunition in Niger state.

The seizure, according to an Assistant Comptroller General, Monday Abuse, were made at the seaport on Monday in two separate operations on July 9 and July 10.

The consignment was brought to the terminal in a vessel which originated from Turkey.

The items found in the consignment include several rounds of live ammunition of different calibre, jack knives, expended empty shells of various calibres and empty magazines.
