Customs discovers 51 bags of abandoned Cannabis in Ogun state

Operatives of the Nigeria Customs Service have discovered over 51 bags of weeds suspected to be Indian Hemp abandoned by suspected smugglers at Imeko Afon in the Yewa Axis of Ogun State.

 Following the discovery, the Ogun State Command of Nigeria Customs Service, handed over the weeds weighing 537.3 kilogramme whose street value is put at N2.04 million, to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

Spokesman of the State Command of Customs, Abubakar Usman while handing-over the weeds to the NDLEA officials in Abeokuta, said no arrest was made in connection with the seizure.

Receiving the exhibits, the state NDLEA principal staff officer in-charge of exhibits, Mr Bulus Chuwang, commended the Customs for the successful operation, saying it will  further boost the synergy between the two agencies.
