Court stops congress of Ogun PDP caretaker committee

People Democratic Party (PDP)

An Abeokuta Magistrate Court has stopped Ogun State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) caretaker committee from going ahead with its congress, scheduled to hold on Saturday.

Magistrate Idowu Olayinka, also ordered the state caretaker committee from holding any meeting and congress in Ogun State.

The magistrate ordered the Assistant Inspector General in-charge of Lagos and Ogun States, officers in charge of intervention squad, Ogun State Police Commissioner, and the state director of department of security service to arrest, investigate and prosecute any member of the caretaker committee who violate the order.

The magistrate issued the order while ruling on an application filed by the prosecution for the revocation of bail granted to two members of the state PDP caretaker committee, Temidayo Nike and Bankole Osinsanya for disobeying the order of a Federal High Court, recognising the Bayo Dayo-led state executive as the legal executive council until the year 2020.
