Court sentences Delta traditional ruler to death by hanging

The traditional head of Ekpan community in Uvwie kingdom in Delta State is to die by hanging for committing murder.

He was sentenced to death by a Delta State High Court sitting in Asaba.

The traditional ruler, Newton Agbofodoh, according to the prosecution, killed one Mr. John Mogidi, and attempted the murder of one Innocent Akemu.

The presiding judge sentenced Agbofodoh to 14 years imprisonment on conspiracy to commit murder and death by hanging on count two.

On count three, the judge ruled he be kept behind bars for 7 years, and 21 years imprisonment on count four which is for attempted murder.
