Kano state sharia court of appeal has revoked the death sentence on an Islamic Gospel Singer, Yahaya Sheriff for blasphemy against Islam
The Kano upper sharia court had ruled that the singer be hanged for uttering foul language against Prophet Mohammed
But the appeal court in its ruling on the appeal filed by the singer, says that the judgement of the upper sharia court was full of irregularities, and lacks merit Justice Nasiru Saminu says that the convict was not given a fair trial and orders his immediate retrial by another sharia court
