A federal high court, Abeokuta, Ogun State capital has ordered a suspected rice smuggler to be remanded in a correctional home for unlawful possession of fifty bags of imported rice in Ogun State .
The Suspect, Victor Hassan also known as” Victor Owode”, pleads not guilty to the two count charges proffered against him by the Nigeria Custom Service.
A legal officer of Nigerian custom service board, Ibrahim Abass, told the court that the convict was caught with fifty bags of 50 kilograms of imported rice at Oke–Odan near Idi-Iroko.
The judge, Justice Shittu Mohammed ,in his ruling granted the suspect bail in the sum of two million naira, with one surety in like sum
The case had been adjourned till January 16,2020 for trial.
