An Abeokuta magistrate court, at Isabo, has sentenced two persons to five years imprisonment for belonging to “Eiye” and “Aiye” confraternity secret cults in the Ogun State capital
The convicts, Kabiru Kuforiji and Ahmed Hamsat, were found guilty of three count charges of conspiracy to belong to an unlawful society and also belonging to that society.
The prosecutor, Assistant Supreintendent Police, Bukola Abolade, told the court that one of the convicts, Kabiru Kuforiji, joined the “Eiye Confraterity Society’ while Ahmed Hamsat joined the “Aiye” confraternity.
The convicts, according to the prosecutor, joined the cult groups on September 6, 2019 at Erunwon area of the city The magistrate, I.O Abudu, in her ruling, sentenced the convicts to prison terms without the option of fine.
