Cooking gas: 11 PLC increases stake in LPG sub-sector

Eleven PLC, Formerly Mobil Oil Nigeria PLC, has opened 14 new plants to increase its share in the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) market in the country.

The company said 14 plants are opened simultaneously in Lagos State to cover all retail outlets in the state before moving to other states of the federation.

managing director of the company, Mr. Tunji  Oyebanji, announcing the investment decision, said it is to increase the current capacity of its sister company, Nipco in the LPG market due to its extensive assets and infrastructure within the various value chain from storage to distribution.

Nipco’s LPG Operations according to him,  consists of a 10,500 metric tonnes storage capacity in Apapa, Lagos, with a distribution chain comprising 42 LPG delivery trucks whose capacity ranges between three and 25 tonnes per delivery.

Oyebanji also said that Nipco has a technical supply agreement with Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG), the largest producer of LPG in the country, to guarantees regular supply of the product.
