An ad-hoc committee of the House of Representatives amending the 1999 constitution has adopted the report of the 2014 National Conference.
The committee headed by Deputy Speaker of House of Reps, Yusuf Lasun, who announced the decision said major recommendations in the report will be used as a draft bill in amending the constitution.
Among the major recommendations in the report are creation of 18 more states, a new revenue sharing formula reducing Federal Government Allocation to 42.5 per cent, while the States receive 35 per cent and Local Government (22.5 per cent).
The National Conference report also recommends a modified Presidential System.
Lasun said copies of the National Conference Report had been distributed to members of the committee to come up with recommendations.
President Buhari has rejected the report which has received massive support from a cross sections of the Nigerian society.
