Confusion Trails Killing of Benue’s Most Wanted Bandit

Confusion has trailed how Benue State’s most wanted armed bandit, Terwaze Kwaza,, alias Gana, ended his life on Tuesday

The army says its fourth special force, conducting special operation in Benue State, intercepted Gana and some of its followers, on Gbese-Markurdi highway, and shot him dead during a shoot-out at a road block

The special forces commander, Major General Moundhey Ali, told newsmen that he had ordered troops to mount strategic road blocks after receiving intelligence on the movement of the wanted bandit

He adds that 40 of members of Gana’s gang were also captured along with seven rifles, ammunition and charms

But Governor Samuel Ortom claims that Gana was on his way to meet with him, after renouncing arms banditry to take advantage of the amnesty programme he recently launched Reports says that before getting to the army road block, Gana had met with major stakeholders at Katsina Ala, where he renounced banditry along with members of his gang
