Governor Dapo Abiodun has expressed concern over the conditions at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu.
He describes the condition as worse than deplorable, and the structures in the Teaching Hospital as sub-standard.
Abiodun speaking during an unscheduled visit to the Hospital, says there is the need for the State Government to return to the drawing board, to enable the teaching hospital produce good medical doctors.
He expresses shock at the equipment in the Hospital, which he regards as obsolete and non-functional, and odour from its mortuary which pervade all parts of the facility.
The Governor asks the facility’s Chief Medical Director to furnish him with reports on the State of the Hospital.
Committee of experts will be set up, according to the Governor to study the report, and work out the modality for salvaging the Hospital, which according to him used to be best State Universities Teaching Hospital in Nigeria.
