Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Mohammed, has asked lawyers to stop filing endless and frivolous appeals at both the Courts of Appeal and Supreme Courts.
Justice Mohammed, issues the warning to lawyers in Lagos, at the opening of the Annual General Meeting of Nigeria Bar Association.
He says that Supreme Court will not hesitate to punish any lawyer found to be abusing the court process.
Nigeria’s Chief Justice says that the judiciary under his leadership is gradually embracing technology to fast track its process.
Justice Mohammed also says that Supreme Court justices and appeal court judges had forgone their annual 2019 vacation so as to clear the backlog of cases that are time sensitive.
