Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has pleaded with Ogun State government to allow the Christian faithful in the state to attend the cross over night vigil on December 31
The state can chairman, Bishop Tunde Akinsanya, in a statement made the plea on Sunday
Bishop Akinsanya asks the governor to allow the cross over night vigil to hold between 10 pm on December 31 and 1.15 Am on January 1
The governor in announcing a fresh Covid 19 restriction in face of the second wave of the pandemic, banned cross over vigil, and limit the size of congregation by worship centres to avoid further infection of Covid 19 in the state
The can chairman told the governor that churches in the state will ensure that the cross over vigil ends 12.15 am on January 1, while strictly enforcing Covid 19 protocols
The Lagos state chapter of CAN is also demanding holding of the cross over vigil within the period.
