Nigeria’s home based Super Eagles have qualified for the semi-final of the ongoing CHAN in Morocco, after beating hard-fighting Angola by two-one.
The coach Salisu Yusuf tutored side who failed to convert several scoring chances in a quarter-final match played at Tangier, came from behind after conceding a 55th minute goal scored by Angola’s Timothy Timothy who capitalized on the eagles defensive blunder.
Anthony Okpotu’s late equalizer within the second half stoppage time and Ikechukwu Gabriel’s extra-time strike sealed the semi-final ticket for Nigeria.
This is the second time the home-based Eagles will be making it to the semi-final, since their debut in 2014 in South Africa where they finished third.
They will now take on Sudan in the last four.
