Chief Army of Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, has cautioned against undue criticism of troops on special operation in Kaduna, Benue, Taraba and Benue states.
Buratai said it is wrong to generalize that troops are taking side in conflicts in the area.
The Army Chief spoke on the issue, at the burial of 11 soldiers killed by armed bandits in an ambush in Birnin Gwari in Kaduna state last March 29, at the Commonwealth Cemetery, Kaduna.
Promising to make the bandits account for the killing, Buratai represented by the General Officer Commanding Army First Division, Major General Mohammed Mohammed, expressed concern over those still doubting the loyalty of the Army to Nigeria.
According to him, the 1o of the slain troops, were enlisted into the Army last year, and most of them had not visited their relatives since then, before they were killed.
Kaduna State governor, Nasir el-Rufai announced a donation of N500, 000 to each family of the 11 slain soldiers. Please subscribe to our newsletter
