President Muhammadu Buhari has signed the 2019 Appropriation Bill into law, with a complain over some alteration made to it by the National Assembly.
Buhari submitted a n8.8 trillion Bill to the National Assembly, but the National Assembly adds n90.3 billion to the Bill, raising it to n8.9 trillion.
Signing the Bill into law, Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, accuses National Assembly of adding new expenditure and projects into the Bill.
He expresses concern that the introduction of additional items into the Bill will affect the implementation of the economic recovery and growth programme of his administration.
The items injected into the Bill by the lawmakers to cover the n90.3 billion added to the Bill, include security bills and severance allowances of the outgoing National Assembly members.
Buhari thanking the lawmakers for delivering the budget, says he will engage the leadership of the Ninth National Assembly, to address his concerns over the Bill.
The Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, who attended the budget signing session, says the constitution empowers National Assembly to appropriate funds.
