President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the immediate sack of a former chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pensions Reform, Abdulrasheed Maina.
Presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina, in a statement, said Buhari in a memo to the Head of Service of the Federation, demanded a full report of the circumstances of the recall on Maina, and his posting to the Interior Ministry.
Buhari, according to Adesina, directed the Head of Service to send the reply to the query to his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, within 24 hours.
Maina, appointed by the Jonathan administration to head a presidential task force, to rid the Police pensions scheme of corruption, was declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in 2012.
He absconded from his post, after EFCC declared him wanted over N195 billion Police pensions scam in 2014, in which the Senate committee indicted him.
Maina was recalled back to the civil service last week, promoted to the post of a director and posted to the Ministry of Interior.
2/ PMB has also asked Head of Service to submit a full report of the circumstances of Mr Maina's recall & posting to the Interior Ministry.
