President Muhammadu Buhari has re-present the name of Ibrahim Magu to the Senate for consideration as the substantive chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Last December, the Senate had rejected the nomination of Magu, based on the security report it received from the Department of Security Service (DSS) which indicted him.
The Senators then asked Buhari to present another name for consideration for the post.
But President Buhari in a letter read by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, during the plenary on, pleaded with the Senators to reconsider Magu for the post.
Before Saraki read Buhari’s letter, the Senators went into a closed session lasting an hour.
