President Muhammadu Buhari has assured Ndigbo that his administration will implement all the capital projects that will fast-track the development of the South East region.
Buhari speaking in Abakaliki during his official visit to Ebonyi State, explained that the projects he promised South East leaders at a meeting last month in the Presidential Villa, are included in the proposed 2018 budget still before the National Assembly.
The projects, according to him, include roads, energy, agriculture and social intervention programmes.
“When I met with leaders of the South-east last month in Abuja, they raised several issues of concern including the state of roads in the region. I want to assure you that we will deliver on our promise. Our 2018 budget include many strategic projects for the region in roads, power, agriculture and social sector,” the president said.
His host, Governor Dave Umahi thanked Buhari for the visit, while asking for the payment of his administration for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of some of the federal roads in the state.
Former governor, Sam Egwu thanked Buhari, for the payment of pensions to former Biafran police officers by the Presidency.
