BUHARI ORDERS PROBE OF NDDC N6 TRILLION FUND

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered a criminal investigations into the over N6 trillion disbursed to the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) since 2001

Buhari issues the directive after receiving the final forensic audit report of the commission’s finances from Niger Delta affairs minister, Senator Godswill Akpabio at the presidential villa, Abuja

He also directs the forwarding of the report to the justice ministry for a legal review and with other relevant agencies

The president says he is worried that over 13,777 projects executed by NDDC out of the N6 trillion allocated to it were compromised

Buhari also expressed concern over the 362 bank accounts opened by NDDC, which lacks a proper reconciliation
