Buhari Orders Payment Of N30,000 Wage As He Signs New Wage Bill

A new national monthly minimum wage is now n30,000, as President Muhammadu Buhari finally signed the new national minimum wage bill into law.

Senior Special Assistant to Buhari on National Assembly Matters, Senator Ita Enang, announces this to the State House correspondents at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

With Buhari assenting to the bill, Enang says it is mandatory for all employers of labour in the country to pay a minimum of n30, 000 as a monthly wage to their workers.

Buhari had sent a bill of n27,000 national monthly minimum wage to the National Assembly for its consideration and approval.

But the National Assembly approved a n30, 000 monthly minimum wage and sent the bill last March 27 for his assent.
