Buhari orders IGP to relocate to Benue to stop herdsmen attack

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, to immediately relocate to Benue State to stop further attacks by armed herdsmen.

Force spokesman, Jimoh Moshood in a statement said Inspector General of Police is moving to Benue State with additional five units of mobile policemen.

Moshood explained that aerial surveillance of the state by helicopters is ongoing.

Last Sunday, Idris deployed five units of mobile policemen to the state to reinforce policemen on ground.

Also deployed were Special Forces such as counter terrorism unit last Monday.
