The tenure of Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has been extended for three months
His tenure had expired last Monday
Police Affairs Minister, Mohammed Dangiyadi, announced this to the state house correspondents at the presidential villa, Abuja after meeting with President Buhari
The three month extension, according to the minister, is to give the president more time for proper selection of the new inspector general of police
Meanwhile, Buhari has forwarded the names of immediate service chiefs to senate for approval as non-career ambassadors
The service chiefs include General Gabriel Olonisakin, Leuitenant General Tukur Buratai, Air Marshall Sadique Abubakar and Vice Admiral Ibok Ete Ibas
