The presidency has dismissed social media reports suggesting that President Muhammadu Buhari is considering a third term in office, at the expiration of his second term tenure in 2023.
It assures that Buhari will end his second term tenure in 2023, and there will be poll for the election of a new president.
The speculation follows a group calling itself ‘movement of Buhari third term’ canvassing for the amendment of the 1999 Constitution to provide for a third term presidency.
Reacting, a Presidential Spokesman, Garba Sheu, in a statement says there will be no third term presidency under the Buhari administration.
According to him, there will be no set of circumstances that will facilitate Buhari seeking to elongate his term in office beyond 2023.
