The Army Special Forces say the remaining stronghold of Boko Haram fighters in the North East region will be captured within the next few weeks.
The Commander of the Lafiya Dole, Major General Lucky Irabor, who made this known in an interview in Maiduguri, said Boko Haram fighters are now holed up in a few locations in the Sambisa forest, and two towns, Abadan and Malafatori near the Lake Chad.
Irabor said the advance against the remaining Boko Haram major bases was stalled due to the weather condition.
The Army Commander, however, said the Special Forces are planning a new major advance further into Sambisa forest to bring the conflict to an end.
