Force headquarters has ordered the withdrawal of security aides from the governors and deputy governors of Kogi and Bayelsa States, ahead of the November 16 governorship polls in the two states.
Others who will lose their security aides until after the polls are public office holders, politicians and other individuals involved in the polls process.
Deputy inspector general of police in-charge of operation, Abdulmajid alli, who announces this at a news conference in Abuja, says a total of 66,241 policemen had been deployed to secure the two states during and after the polls.
He warns that anyone caught snatching ballot boxes will not have another opportunity to do so again.
The police, according to him are fed up with electoral violence in the two states and are ready for any eventuality..
