Bandits free more 30 captives in Katsina. Armed bandits have freed additional 30 of their captives in the ongoing exchange deal with the Kastina State government.
Those released on Saturday night, included 15 women and 15 children.
Governor Aminu Maisari receiving the freed captives from the bandits says, 57 had so far being released by the bandits under the peace deal.
Under the peace deal, the bandits are releasing those abducted during attacks in exchange for some of their members arrested and detained by security agencies.
Maisari explains that the 30 persons just freed were from Kankara and Jibia Local Government Areas.
The governor explains that a list of 18 detained bandits received from leaders of the armed bandits for their release, will be considered.
