Armed bandits have attacked the National Tuberculosis and Leprosy, Zaria, abducting eight persons.
Those abducted by the bandits, who arrived the center in a large truck, included nurses, their children and a security guard.
Before attacking the hospital, the bandits had raided the safe police divisional headquarters in the town.
The bandits in arriving the centre, headed straight for the staff quarter.
Spokesman of the State Police Command, Mohammed Jalinge, confirms the attack and the number of people abducted from the centre.
According to him, police after the attack, recovered three live ammunition of the general purpose machine gun and thirty four empty shells of 7.62 millimeter ammunition.
Spokesman of the Medical and Health Union in the center, Maryam Abdurazak, says the attack was the third to be carried out by bandits on the facility.
