Former Governor Balarabe Musa has blamed the rise in kidnapping nationwide on the lack of political will by government.
The Elder Statesman speaking on the menace, says kidnappers are operating freely without accounting for their crimes because of the lack of will by Nigeria’s political leaders to fight them.
He attributes the surge in the kidnapping on the urge to get rich quickly which is now prevalent in the country.
Balarabe also explains kidnapping which was not a phenomenon in the first and second republics had become a lucrative business because of the high level of stealing public fund by political office holders.
