Awujale seeks extension of crude oil exploration to Ogun state

The Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, has asked the presidency to extend the on-going search for crude oil deposits in the Lake Chad basin and Benue trough to Ogun state.

Oba Adetona who made the call while receiving the wife of Ogun state governor, Mrs Olufunso Amosun, in his palace in Ijebu ode, said there are other parts of the country, apart from the South-South region, which have crude oil deposits and various other natural resources.

For instance, the monarch said the Olokola axis in the Ogun waterside has huge crude oil deposit.
