Atiku emerges as PDP presidential candidate for the 2019 poll

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has emerged as the PDP candidate for the 2019 presidential poll.

He scored 1,532 votes to defeat 11 other aspirants at the party’s national convention in Port Harcourt, in which 3,221 delegates participated.

Atiku was trailed by Governor Aminu Tambuwal who scored 693 votes, Governor Ibrahim Dankwabo (111 votes), Senator Bukola Saraki (317 votes), Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso (158 votes) and Senator Ahmed Makarfi (74 votes).

Others includes Senator David Mark who collected 35 votes, Senator Jonah Jang (19 votes), Datti Baba Ahmed (5 votes), Taminu Turaki (65 votes), former Governors Sule Lamido (96 votes) and Attahiru Bafarawa with 48 votes.
