Former vice president Atiku Abubakar has finally quit the All Progressive Congress (APC) for Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a week after keeping Nigerians in suspense over his political future.
Announcing his exit from APC on his Facebook page, Atiku said he returns to PDP he helped to form, after extensive consultations with party leaders and major stakeholders.
According to Atiku, the complains he had with PDP before he defected to APC on the eve of 2015 polls, had been resolved.
He declared, “So, today I want to let you know that I am returning home to the PDP as the issues that led me to leave it have now been resolved.
“It is clear that the APC has let the Nigerian people, and especially our young people, down.”
APC had wished Atiku good luck in re-joining PDP, while PDP leadership had told him that he will not get automatic ticket to contest the 2019 presidential poll.
