Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has alleged a N2billion fraud at the University of Ilorin.
The allegation contained in a petition sent by the Ibadan zone of the union to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), says the university’s Vice Chancellor and his predecessor were involved in the fraud.
The union accused the officials of fraud in the management of pensions fund, fraudulent and unremitted deductions from salaries, extortion from students, as well as, kickback and inflation of contracts on university’s projects.
ASUU also accused them of unlawful payment of allowances to former principal officers of the university, who had resigned and working elsewhere.
Spokesman of the institution, Kunle Akogun, dismissed the allegations, saying they were only fit for the dustbin.
