Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has accused the Federal Government of introducing policies allegedly designed to cripple public universities in the country.
The lecturers also accuse members of the senate of being indifferent to the plight of Nigerians.
ASUU President, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, made the accusation, at a news briefing in Abeokuta, after the meeting of the union’s national executive council, held on the campus of Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).
Ogunyemi says the political class has refused to solve the problems facing public universities, so as to protect their interests in private universities.
The ASUU president did not spare the senators who he accused of adopting a provocative lifestyle, that could force people to move against them.
