ASUP Orders Poly Lecturers To Suspend Two Month Old Strike

Academic staff union of polyechnics (ASUP) has directed the striking lecturers in Federal Polytchnics to return to classrooms.

ASUP president, Isa Dutse who announces the suspension of the two month old strike, says the decision was taken at the meeting of the union’s national executive council in Abuja.

He warns that the two month old strike will be resumed if the presidency fails to fully implement the memorandum of understanding signed with the government before end of May.

Government, according to ASUP president, says n16.7 billion has been released to meet the salaries shortfall, and release of n15.6 billion for the revitalization fund for polytechnics.
