Army newly promoted officers moved to North East’s war front

Some of the newly promoted army senior officers have been ordered to move to the war front in the North east region to strengthen the anti-insurgent operation.

Army Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, issues the directive while decorating 29 of the newly promoted officers with their new ranks.

He told them that they will be moved on Friday to the theatre of war.

Buratai directs the military secretary to read out the posting to the affected officers, while asking their wives to keep the home front in the absence of their husbands.

Last Monday, the army council approved the elevation of 231 senior officers to their next ranks.

They included 29 brigadier generals moved to the rank of major general, 95 colonels to the rank of brigadier general, 106 lieutenant colonels to the rank of colonels and one major to the rank of lieutenant colonel.
