Army insists on Operation Python Dance launch in South East

The Nigerian Army  has saidits special military operation, ‘Python Dance’ will kick off on Saturday in Abia and other South East region, as scheduled.

Army spokesman, Brigadier General Sani Usman, in a statement disputed the statement reportedly made by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu that pullout of troops from the streets of Aba and Umuahia, will begin today.

Usman said the pullout of troops from the streets of the two cities will be gradual, and will not affect the troops deployment for the Operation Python Dance.

Army commanders in the region, he explained had been directed to ensure that the special operation is executed to its logical conclusion.

The successful completion of the military operation, according to him will dovetail into various security outfits till end of the year.

He warned that the Army will not allow anyone to interrupt its field training during the special operation.
