Armed bandits occupying three Zamfara communities, says the speaker

Speaker of Zamfara State House of Assembly has alerted that armed bandits have occupied three districts in Zurmi Local Government areas of the state.

Alhaji Sanusi Rikiji, lists the districts as Mashema, Kwashebawa and Biranadishu.

The speaker, who raised the alert during a visit to Zurmi, describes the security situation in the axis as worrisome and asked security forces to secure the areas from bandits.

The education commissioner, according to him, has been directed to shut down schools to accommodate villagers displaced by the bandits from their homes.

He said that over 12,000 people who fled their villages under attacks by the bandits are now seeking refuge in neighbouring villages.
