April salary may delay, as states/NNPC disagree on March allocation revenue

FG, states, LGs share N635.55bn as allocation drops by N20bn

Again, the sharing of revenue in the federation account by three tiers of government has been deadlocked, raising concern that it may delay the payment of April salaries to civil servants.

Chairman of Finance Commissioners’ Forum, Yinusa Mahmud, made this known to newsmen after the last minute cancellation of the monthly meeting of the federation account allocation committee in Abuja.

He attributes the development to the disagreement of the state governments with Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) over the revenue available for sharing for the month of March.

To find an early end to the dispute, the state governors on Wednesday night engaged top officials of NNPC on the disputed revenue figure.
