APC says it is considering punitive measures against Governor Ibikunle Amosun, following the disruption of Monday’s campaign rally of president Muhammadu Buhari in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
The national working committee of APC accused the Governor of masterminding the disruption of the rally, during which hoodlums threw missiles onto the campaign podium.
The APC in a statement by its national publicity secretary, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, alleges that the governor sponsored the premeditated violent attack on Buhari and other top APC leaders on the campaign podium.
The party’s leadership, according to Issa Onilu, will meet and take a decision on the matter, immediately after the coming polls.
He says that APC will not allow a single person to put his alleged personal and selfish interests, ahead of those of Ogun State and elsewhere.
It promises to hand out the punitive measures against the governor and other people who allegedly played roles in the disrupted presidential campaign rally.
According to APC, it is known for discipline, justice, fairness, and equity, and will not condone indiscipline and anti-party activities from any member, no matter highly placed. Please subscribe to our newsletter
