The national caucus of All Progressives Congress (APC) has met in Abuja, ahead of today’s meeting of the party’s national executive council (NEC).
In attendance at the Monday night meeting of the caucus, presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, were Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, the national APC chairman, Chief Odigie-Oyegun and other members of the party’s national working committee.
Others were the past APC state governors and members of the National Assembly, as well as Buhari cabinet members and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha.
The national APC leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, was absent from the meeting.
Oyegun addressing the State House correspondents after the meeting, said the elongation of his tenure was not discussed at the meeting.
Meanwhile, top APC leaders have converged in Abuja for the meeting of the national executive council.
Security has been beefed up at the party’s secretariat, ahead of the meeting to be presided over by President Buhari.
Expected at the meeting which is a follow-up to that of last February 26, are APC state governors, the Senate President, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, members of board of trustees, national working committee and other top leaders.
APC national publicity secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, told newsmen that issues on the agenda of the meeting, included the consideration of the report of true federalism committee and APC constitutional amendment.Please subscribe to our newsletter
