Amosun sends bill to Assembly to harmonize taxes, charges

Governor Ibikunle Amosun has sent a bill to the Ogun State House of Assembly seeking to harmonize the revenue and charges payable in the state.

The speaker, Suraj Adekunbi read the bill during the plenary on Thursday.

In the bill, the governor explained that all the government revenue generating agencies would issue a single receipt for revenue and charges payable, to end multiple revenue and charges by the state government.

The speaker also called on the striking state civil servants to enter into talks with the state government to end the one week old strike.

Meanwhile, the house of assembly has confirmed Lanre Bisiriyu as its new clerk taking over from the acting clerk, Deji Adeyemo.
