Amosun protests Ogun exclusion from ecology fund to flood ravaged states

Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state

Governor Ibikunle Amosun has protested the exclusion of Ogun State from the proposed disbursement of ecological fund by the federal government to states ravaged by flood.

Amosun says although Ogun State is not ravaged by flood, his administration has invested heavily in infrastructural facilities to prevent flood in the state.

The governor, who spoke on the issue at the town hall meeting convened by the state government, on the proposed 2018 budget in Abeokuta, recalled raising the issue during the recent meeting of the National Economic Council in Abuja.

At the meeting, Amosun said he argued that while states ravaged by flood deserves the ecological fund, other states which worked hard like Ogun, to prevent flooding should equally rewarded.
