The Organized Labour and the Ogun State Government have reached a deal on labour issues after a meeting in Abeokuta.
President of Nigeria Labour Congress, Ayuba Wabba, says the meeting resolved all issues in contention including unremitted deductions into the contributory pensions and co-operative societies, unpaid gratuities and salary arrears of staff of the Tai Solarin College of Education.
Wabba addressing civil servants after a two hour meeting with Governor Ibikunle Amosun at the Governors Office, Oke Mosan in Abeokuta, says the State Government promises to set aside n20 billion to fund the payment of the contributory pension scheme.
He adds that the Governor agreed to study the recommendation of the Organised Labour in addressing the crisis of salary and subvention of the Tai Solarin College of Education, Omu Ijebu.
The NLC President also disclosed that the Labour will set up a committee that will recommend and negotiate with the officials of the State Government on the issues of basic rent and transportation mode used in the payment of gratuities of retired civil servants.
He says Government also agreed to pay the arrears of deduction from salaries to co-operative societies with the refund expected from the reconstructed federal roads in the State from the Presidency.
The Labour leader however warns Labour Unions in the State against politicizing any rally organized by the Labour.
